CHECK WHAT YOU HAVE LEARNED
Sound Intallation
2017

Seat, text embroidered with metallic golden thread and audios (interviews were made where oral assessment on the importance of the Cuban history study).
This sound installation, has embroidered on the back of the furniture a question that generation after generation has passed unnoticed by the hands of an entire people: (...) it is necessary that our people know their history, it is necessary that the facts of today, the merits of today, the triumphs of today, do not make us fall into the unjust and criminal forgetfulness of the roots of our history (...) On the basis of this approach, it argues the importance of studying national and local history. This is the first evaluation proposed by the ninth grade History of Cuba book, from the section Check what you have learned. In this case it is presented as a problem for the spectator who must decide whether to remain alone observing with a meek attitude or to accept the comfort offered where the question is annulled by its own weight, to listen to the answers of the different people to whom this question was asked. The atmosphere created enhances the indifferent attitude that people adopt towards History, that tendency of apathy towards the big issues, towards reflection, in a context where historical propaganda is the main weapon of political survival.
