Somehow this work came to me as a tribute to Felix Gonzalez Torres. Thinking about him, his life and his art, served me as motivation for Sentir, temer y vivir, a work that I present today in dialogue with the pandemic in the Cuban context and all that it has brought with it: fears, displeasure, agonies, fractions, deaths.

Along with all this swarm of negative situations, there lies the faith in a change and the hope in the possible overcoming of the problems for an improvement. This period, so convulsive and full of emotions, has made us very conscious of time, which is both part of the problem and the abstract promise of a possible solution n. On the one hand, confinement, isolation and quarantine have slowed down life. On the other hand, the social explosion in the face of the chaos that has modified so much of our routines, shakes up for the moment what was apparently at a standstill and imposes rapid radical changes that leave us at the mercy of divisions. The wait for an end, whatever it may be, seems interminable and holds more questions than answers. “It is a matter of time”, is a phrase often heard in popular discourse, which today is full of sad hopes.
